Digital Extremes has announced that Nintendo Switch port of Warframe is currently in development at Panic Button, the studio behind the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM and Wolfenstein II.
Panic Button, the studio that delivered Wolfenstein II and DOOM on Nintendo Switch, has been asked to work on yet another game for the Nintendo’s console – Digital Extremes’ Warframe. Yes, Panic Button is not working on the Nintendo Switch port of Warframe. The announcement of it was made by Digital Extremes via the game’s official YouTube channel – you can watch the announcement video below. Sadly, there was was no word on the exact release date.
It’s good to see that Nintendo is taking that extra effort to bring as many third-party games to Nintendo Switch, and if words of Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima is anything to go by then many new unannounced games are scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch in Fall 2018. Why this statement of Tatsumi Kimishima hold more significant because he used the term “Powerful” for this upcoming unannounced line-up and added that more details on it will be shared at an appropriate time.
Warfare is a free-to-play co-op third-person shooter. The game has received “mixed to average reviews”, according to the website Metacritic. It has been nominated for the “Best Ongoing Game” at The Game Awards 2017 and has won the People’s Voice Award for “Action” at the Webby Awards 2018.
