In Path Of The Hidden City Walkthrough of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you will have to play three evil trials – Trail of Jaguar, Trail of Spider and Trail of Eagle which has a puzzle that will lead you to the Hidden City.
In the previous chapter Path of the Dead Lara after swimming through the flooded ruins, Lara will make deeper into the ruins where she has to go through three evil trails to find a path to the Hidden City. Trail of Jaguar and Trail of Spider is simple, in Trail of Eagle you have to activate an old mechanism to exit the place and get a path towards the next main location.
Path To The Hidden City Walkthrough
After entering the ruins once you are out of the water the first trial is over, the second is also about finding a way while in the final one you will have to solve a puzzle of moving poles with banners.
Complete The Trail Of The Jaguar:
Once you reach the ruins entrance there will be a cutscene. As Lara Enters the ruins she is locked inside. Go down and jump in the water. Swim underwater, and slide through the narrow pass. You will get the first air pocket once you are out, watch for the eel. Hide in the grass to confuse the predator. After passing between two walls you will be out.
Complete The Trail Of The Spider:
You will see a spider type shape on the wall, climb on it and go right. Climb towards the light and you will reach a cave. There are two paths one goes to the left and second to the right side. Climb on the wall and walk towards the spider. Use the grapple to move on cave above the spider. Walk outside to begin the next trial.
Complete The Trail Of The Eagle:
In front of you, there will be a massive eagle with moving flags. You have to reach that place. Walk from left, use the edges of the wall to go on top and you will see a bonfire. Activate the base so that you can access the skill and upgrade section. This is the best place to upgrade. Walk towards the location and you will see a moving mechanism. Walk towards the building and inside there is a mechanism that is constantly moving. First, use Survival Instinct to scan down the objects around. The objective is to reach the top of this moving mechanism. Below is the solution to this puzzle.
Trial Of The Eagle Puzzle Solution:
Walk straight from the bonfire, and then jump towards the stairs. Climb up and you will be near the moving mechanism. Go left and in the left end, you will find a wooden fence to climb. Move right and jump down on the wooden ground in the right corner.
After getting down go left, walk on the wooden log and climb from the center and walk to the left side once again to reach in the end. Climb on the wall in the end, and move to the left side. Climb down with axe and then rappel to go all the way down. You will see a huge column in the center a part of this machinery.
To activate it, look in the front of the column area for a path made of wooden. Walk to the end and jump to grab the platform ahead. Go up and then move to the right. Go up once again and hang towards the right to go on the other side of the wall. Use axe on the wall to go down and then rappel down. Swing to grab the wall on your fight and climb up.
You will see a moving pole with banners. Use rope tethering to connect the moving pole with the big one in the center. You will see a ladder to climb on the moving pole. Climb on it and walk ahead to avoid the obstacles, you have to once again climb on a wooden wall but look for the moving metal pole above your head. Go up after it passes, on the second log and walk to your right.
On the wall you will see a circular moving mechanism, you have to wait for it to come in a vertical position to climb. Climb up and go right. You will have to jump towards the right path that goes down and ends with a single wooden log. Walk on that and then jump ahead to grab the structure. Go left and then go all the way up. Once again climb from the end and wait for the moving iron block to pass away.
Then go up and exit from the broken wall on the right. It will lead you to another banner pole. First, shoot the circular object with white ropes on it as shown in the image above to pull it forward. Next run left towards the waterfall there is a broken pole with white ropes on it. Stand near it and then shoot object again to open the door. Walk towards the moving pole with banner and shoot rope arrow through the door to connect the center pole with the moving one. This will raise banners and you can use the ladder to climb up.
After climbing on the moving pole, watch-out for the huge iron beams moving in opposite direction. You have to be quick here, go towards the center and climb up. Keep going up till you find nothing to climb and then go left with the help of a wooden log. It will take you towards the wall, use axe to climb and go to the right side. Climb on the wall and then walk on the wooden log, and jump towards the red part of the moving mechanism. Go on the top, and then hang to the right towards the banner.
Climb on it and stay there and you will see an entrance below the eagle. Jump towards the left wing on the woods. Climb down, and use rappel to go further down. You will have to swing on right on the moving circular structure, try to set your swing time in a way that you can catch it once it is vertical. The structure will break, go up.
Find The Hidden City
The evil trails is now complete, walk straight in the end where you will get a mural and then go left. It is a small cave. Cross it, jump in the water, and then climb from the right wall. Climb on the wooden structure and jump towards the pole to swing into another cave. Exit this cave and you will are in the Hidden City. Just outside you can set up your base-camp.
