The classic Sonic the Hedgehog games that appear in Sonic Origins originally came out during a time when it was common for developers to implement cheat codes into their games. While players could definitely take advantage of them, the main reason many of them were included was so the devs could test the game more easily without having to beat the challenges they were making. In Sonic Origins, many of those classic cheat codes have returned with a couple of new ones as well. Here are all of the cheat codes in Sonic Origins.
All cheat codes in Sonic Origins
Unfortunately, it appears there are no cheat codes that currently work in Sonic CD. For the rest of the games, you must first activate the level select code on that game’s title screen and then input the proper number combination in that game’s sound test section. After the code is put in, you should hear a sound. Select a stage, and the cheat should take effect.

- Level select – Up, Down, Left, Right, A
- Debug Mode – 01, 09, 09, 01, 00, 06, 02, 03
- All Chaos Emeralds – 04, 01, 02, 06
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 cheat codes
- Level select – Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A
- Debug Mode – 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04
- All Chaos Emeralds – 04, 01, 02, 06
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles cheat codes
- Level select – Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up, then select Sound Test under Competition
- Debug Mode – 01, 09, 09, 04, 01, 00, 01, 08
- All Chaos Emeralds – 04, 01, 02, 06 (enter twice for Hyper form)
Regardless of whether you use cheats or not, there are plenty of achievements and trophies to unlock in Sonic Origins. You can also check out all the neat music included in the game, though not the original Sonic 3 tunes.
