All shiny Pokémon coming to Pokémon Go in May 2020

More shiny Pokémon will come in May 2020.

Pokémon Go has plenty of new events releasing for eager trainers to continue their journey in the game during May. To celebrate 20 years of the Pokémon franchise, they’re bringing Throwback Challenges for 2020, centered around the first four regions featured in the games, namely Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. During each of these weekly challenges, Pokémon from these regions are receiving shiny versions.

The shiny Pokémon available during these events are as follows:

  • Shiny Venonat: Kanto Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 1 at 1:00pm to May 8 at 1:00pm
  • Shiny Dunsparce: Johto Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 8 at 1:00pm to May 15 at 1:00pm
  • Shiny Skitty: Hoenn Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 15 at 1:00pm to May 22 at 1:00pm
  • Shiny Glameow: Sinnoh Throwback Challenge 2020 from May 22 at 1:00pm to May 29 at 1:00pm

The shiny versions of these Pokémon will release at the start of their respective region’s Throwback Challenge 2020 event times. You can find all of them in the wild as you would any other Pokémon, but you won’t know if they’re shiny until you click on them to try and capture them.

It’ll be easier to capture more of these Pokémon because the Throwback Challenge events have increased spawns of Pokémon who appeared in that region. You can expect to see more Venonat during the Kanto Throwback Challenge from May 1 to May 8. If you’re seeking to add the shiny version of Venonat to your collection, try using a lure for the event to boost your chances of attracting them to your location. Lures will not have boosts for this event, but they should last a full hour.

All of these Pokémon are also available as 7-kilometer egg hatch rewards. You can reach out to your friends to send you more gifts, potentially landing more friend-exclusive 7-kilometer eggs.

There are plenty of methods to obtain these shiny Pokémon during the May 2020 Throwback Challenge events. Make sure you have enough PokéBalls in your inventory to increase your chances of adding more shiny Pokémon to your collection.
