Does WoW Forever Have New Races?

WoW Forever introduces a brand-new playable race to Azeroth. Here’s what you need to know about the Skyborne.

World of Warcraft: Forever adds a new playable race to the original version of Azeroth. The Skyborne are a new elven race with their own starting experience, unique customizations, and access to both the Horde and the Alliance. Here is all you need to know about the new Skyborne race in WoW Forever.

Does WoW Forever Have a New Race?

WoW Forever adds the Skyborne as a new playable race. The Skyborne are a new neutral race that players can choose during character creation. Unlike most races in World of Warcraft, Skyborne characters can join either the Horde or the Alliance.

They begin their adventure on Zephras Isle, which has its own starting experience from levels 1 through 12. The race also comes with unique character customizations, voices, dances, visual options, and racial abilities designed specifically for the Skyborne.

Can Skyborne Join the Horde or Alliance?

Yes. Skyborne characters can join either faction when creating a character. Their class options differ depending on their faction. Horde-aligned Skyborne can become Shamans, while Alliance-aligned Skyborne can become Mages.

Both factions can also choose Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, or Druid as their class. Skyborne Druids also have unique forms and visuals created specifically for the new race.

Where Do Skyborne Start?

Skyborne characters begin on Zephras Isle, a new area that serves as their starting zone. The starting experience takes characters from level 1 to level 12 and combines the classic Warcraft aesthetic with architecture inspired by Skywall. After completing their starting experience, Skyborne characters can continue exploring the wider world of Azeroth.

Will More Races Be Added to WoW Forever?

Blizzard has announced Skyborne as the only new playable race for WoW Forever. The company has not announced additional new races at this time, but there is a high chance they will appear as WoW Forever evolves.

WoW Forever is built around expanding original Azeroth with new zones, quests, dungeons, raids, and other content while keeping the level cap at 60, so additional races could potentially be added in future updates. However, Blizzard has not confirmed any others yet.

The Skyborne give WoW Forever one of its biggest departures from the original Vanilla experience, while still keeping the new race closely tied to the game’s level-60 Azeroth setting. If you’re looking to try something new, you’ll find the Skyborne a true treat.
