Everything about Pokémon Go’s New Year’s 2021 event

Time to ring in the new year.

The 2021 year is nearly upon us, and Pokémon Go will be celebrating it with a five day event. The celebration starts on December 31, 2020, and goes until January 4, 2021. You can expect to capture exclusive costumed Pokémon that will be appearing for a limited time during this time, and several of them you evolve to receive their 2021 edditions.

Here are all of the spawns, bonuses, and avatar costumes you can receive if you participate in the event.

All costumed Pokémon Spawns – Wild and Raid

These are all of the Pokémon spawns that will be appearing in the event.

  • Slowpoke wearing 2020 glasses
  • Pichu and Pikachu will be wearing New Year’s hats
  • Wynaut will be appearing in two-kilometer eggs
  • Raticate, Wobbuffet, and Wurmple will be available at one-star raids, and they will be wearing party hats

If you evolve Pikachu into a Raichu, it will be wearing a New Year’s hat. If you evolve a Slowpoke into a Slowbro, it will be wearing 2021 glasses.

All New Year’s event bonuses

These are all of the bonuses that will be available from December 31, 2020, to January 4, 2021.

  • Twice as much Hatch Candy
  • Twice as much Stardust
  • All eggs placed inside of incubators will have their time cut in half

All Avatar items

All players will be able to acquire 2021 glasses, and a New Year’s party hat from the in-game shop.
