Transfer your Pokémon over.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

For players interested in connecting their Pokémon Go account to Pokémon Home, it looks like the only way you’ll be doing is by connecting your Nintendo Account. You’ll be able to use this to transfer your Pokémon between the systems. So long as you already have a Nintendo Account, you should be good to go. Creating one is pretty simple. It’s important to note that if you want to transfer any Pokémon to Pokémon Go from Home, they will not be able to leave. They will permanently remain on your mobile game.

How to create a Nintendo account

Suppose you need to create a Nintendo account, head on over to the Nintendo website to get started. There will be a tab on the upper right-hand corner of the browser page to choose to log-in or sign-up. When you sign-up, you will need to provide your date of birth, a nickname for the account, e-mail address, password, gender, your country, and the time zone you’re in. Once you have all that information and verify your account through your e-mail, you can access your new Nintendo account.

When you’re ready with your Nintendo Account on your Nintendo Switch, go to the settings section of Pokémon Go and scroll down to Nintendo Switch. Make sure your Nintendo Switch is ready, and you have the Pokémon Home application ready.

For those looking to use Pokémon Home, there should be an option for it underneath settings in the same section as the Nintendo Account.
