The Nier: Automata collaboration event has arrived in the dark world on SINoALICE—glory to mankind! While there will be more Nier content down the road, you can now unlock 2B, A2, 9S, and Emil. The collaboration is a limited-time event, though, and each character is a little different.
How to unlock 2B
2B is the simplest character to get by far, although it’s easy to lose track of how to access her if you’re not familiar with the myriad of menus and systems in the game. You will get access to a 2B/Breaker class simply by logging in to the game. After you’ve logged in, go to the home page and tap on the treasure chest on the right side of the screen, just below the purification icon. From here, you will see 2B/Breaker as one of the claimable rewards.
2B/Breaker is a sword specializing DPS class. Her level up path is as follows:
- Clv.1 Blade +10% (in Nier stages)
- Clv.2 Blade +10%
- Clv.3 P.ATK +50 (global boost)
- Clv.4 P.DEF +50 (global boost)
- Clv.5 BLADE +10% (in Nier stages)
- Clv.6 P.DEF +50 (global boost)

- Clv.8 P.DEF +50 (global boost)
- Clv.9 Blade +10% (in Nier stages)
- Clv.10 HP +50 (global boost)

How to unlock A2 and Emil
Unfortunately, unlocking A2 and Emil will require a level of chance. You can potentially get either of these characters through the collaboration-specific Grimoire, “The Puppets’ Feast.” To unlock an A2/Breaker class, you’ll have to receive the SR-ranked Type-4O Blade. To unlock an Emil/Cleric, you’ll have to receive the SR-ranked No. 7’s Staff. Both of these have a 0.666% drop rate.
A2/Breaker’s level path is as follows:

How to unlock 9S
While there will be another Nier: Automata collaboration banner that will more heavily feature 2B and 9S, you can unlock 9S through “The Puppets’ Feast” Grimoire as well by summoning the SS-ranked Cruel Arrogance. This can then be evolved into an L-ranked weapon. 9S/Paladin’s level up path is as follows:

- Clv.2 Polearm +10%
- Clv.3 M.ATK +100 (global boost)
- Clv.4 M.DEF +100 (global boost)
- Clv.5 Polearm +10% (in Nier stages)

You will also be able to potentially summon a 2B/Crusher from this Grimoire as well. This Grimoire only lasts till July 27, so get your Nier: Automata characters while you can!
