A barrage of arrows
The Spore Warden starts off with the better option of their two action skills. Barrage allows you to fire out a volley of arrows at a foe that ricochets between nearby enemies. This action skill is better than Blizzard thanks to its ability to be used multiple times in quick succession. Later on, when you get enchantments, you can take advantage of ability skill enchantments with the multiple Barrage charges you get. This will allow you to keep buffs active for a long time. You will also receive the mushroom companion feat. This companion can heal you later on if you take the right skills.
It’s all about ability damage
The Spore Warden’s primary focuses are ability damage and their mushroom companion. Their skill tree has a heavy focus on skill cooldowns, companion damage, and ability damage. Because of this, you will want to focus on making your companion stronger. Here are some skills to look out for:
- Eagle Eye: You gain an increase in both your gun damage and gun handling.
- Kindred Heart: Your companion’s health and damage are both increased.
- Affinity: You gain an increase to your ability damage.
- Medicinal Mushroom: Your mushroom companion gains the ability to heal you whenever you enter Save Your Soul. If your mushroom companion does revive you, you and your companion gain increased damage dealt for a short duration.
- Play the Angles: Your gun critical hits have a chance to ricochet, dealing ability damage to nearby enemies.
It is important to focus your Hero points on increasing your attunement so you can get your action skill back faster. Dexterity and wisdom are also important thanks to the Spore Warden’s affinity for critical hits and status effects.
Criticals or companions
The Spore Warden is a great class to combine with many of the other classes, but the two that shine the most are Clawbringer and Stabbomancer. The Stabbomancer’s affinity for critical hits works perfectly with the Spore Warden’s. If you take the Stabbomancer, we recommend using the From the Shadows skill to gain a massive damage increase. The two classes are also good at applying status effects to enemies.
Clawbringer makes for a great combo with the Spore Warden thanks to its damage negation and companion damage. The Clawbringer gets a lot of buffs to status effects which comes in handy when combined with the Spore Warden’s critical hit chance. Having two companions helps increase your damage output and gives you more survivability. Remember, you can also ping enemies to have your companions assault them while you take on other foes.
