Recommended Videos

Each one will be unlocked in a different way, so in this guide, we will run through how to get them all. Obviously, you get to play as Link from the start, so nothing special needs to be done to unlock the character.

Impa

Impa will unlock for you as part of the Battle of Hyrule Field mission.

Zelda

You will get access to Zelda during the Guardian Amok mission.

Mipha

To unlock Mipha, you will need to complete her specific mission in chapter two. You can find this at Zora’s Domain in Lanaryu. You will get access to this in Chapter 2.

Urbosa

You can unlock Uborsa by finishing her mission at Gerudo Town in Gerudo. You will get access to this in Chapter 2.

Daruk

To unlock Daruk, you will need to finish his mission at Death Mountain in Eldin, which can be found in the northeast of the map. You will get access to this in Chapter 2.

Revali

Revali can be unlocked by doing the missions in Tabantha Frontier in Hebra. You will get access to this in Chapter 2.

Hestu

You can unlock Hestu by finishing the “Freeing Korok Forest” mission. He will join your party about halfway through. You will get access to this in Chapter 3.

Monk Maz Koshia

You will need to finish the Trial of Monsters, Trial of Stones, and Trial of Mighty Stone in Chapter 4, which will then give you access to the Trial of the Ancients. Finish this Trial to get Monk Maz Koshia.

The Great Fairies

There is a lot to do to unlock the Great Fairies. During Chapter 4 you will get access to “Offering Help on the Road”, which will give you access to “Trial of the Great Fairies”. You’ll need to then finish the “Fairy Fountain” challenges, of which there are three, and beat the Great Fairy at the end of each one. This will get you access to the Fairy Fountain: Battlefield quest. Finish this quest to get them to join your group.

Sidon, Yunobo, Teba, Riju

All four characters will join your party during Chapter 5

Master Kohga

Master Kohga will join your party during Chapter 6

King Rhoam

King Rhoam will join your party after Chapter 7.
