In this Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Walkthrough Part 1, you will find Tips to defeat the first four colossi Valus, Quadratus, Gaius And Phaedra along with their location.
Shadow of the Colossus is the remake edition of its predecessor, a better graphics version for PS4. You will be laying as Wander who enters a forbidden land to fight with around sixteen massive creatures called Colossi. In this part after the beginning cut scene, you will be heading to kill the first colossi. Each of these is having soft points where you have to attack them. They will sparkle and you have to reach them to attack.
Defeating Valus (The Minotaur) Colossi – Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Walkthrough
After the cutscene is over, ride the horse and go outside towards the mountains. Draw out the sword and it will point you in the direction of Colossi. You will reach a mountain with a passage between, but you can’t take your horse, get down and climb it. Look in the right for grass on the wall, climb on it and keep moving upwards. Keep running through the edges, jumping on the other side, sliding below fallen columns, etc. You have to make your way up, and you will spot the first Colossi. Follow the creatures, draw your sword and it will point you to the creatures weak point.
Look for the hairy patch on the left leg, grab that and climb up. Draw out your sword and attack the crack behind. A black fountain will pop-out. Once done next climb towards the right path and keep on attacking the shining area. Look on the health bar, if it stops you have to move towards the top of the head. After three to four attack the Colossi will fall down. The first one is not tough, you just have to maintain your grip on the creature.
Defeating Quadratus (Taurus Major) Colossi – Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Walkthrough
After the next cutscene, you will be in the same place from where you had started. Draw your sword and it will tell you to follow North direction, you will have to pass through the left of bridge crossing broken entrance. Get out from the right side and turn right, keep riding and you will spot the bridge on your right. Look for two stone columns, pass between them and you will see a small bridge. Cross it and turn right, there will be a small cutscene. The narrow path on right will take you below the bridge. On the right side of last bridge column, there is a door, when you reach near the Colossi will appear.
This colossus looks like a giant mammoth. The weak point of this creature is below its paws. Stand in front of the creature and it will prepare to stomp you, attack the weak points. use the bows and shoot under the feet. Keep doing this until the creature falls. Then climb up, go at the back side first, there is one more soft point you have to target at the edge of tail. Then move ahead by hopping through the bones toward the head and attack a number of times to kill the colossi.
Defeating Gaius (Earth Knight) Colossi – Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Walkthrough
Once again walk towards the same path that you crossed before to defeat Quadratus near the bridge. Cross the bridge, the right path lead you to your last target, now you have to go straight. Go left towards the mountains, cross the rocky path and get down, swim through the water to reach the ramp.
Walk through the ramp, and jump ahead to reach on another platform. Climb and then jump on your right to reach the round rocky platform. You will have to go up, for that on your backside after walking for some time you will see grass, you can climb through that and you will see the Gaius. The important thing here is to get on the giant as soon as possible because it will follow you and try to attack with a swing. When you are able to reach on this head, he will shake it a lot, don’t attack or else you will fall. He will shake in a pattern, learn that and then plan your attack. Jump with Gaius stomp the sword on the ground to by maintaining a distance to instantly climb on it.
Gaius can spot you really fast, and it will attack with his stone sword, that can kill you in one blow. You have to dodge the attack and then use the sword to climb up. Hang on one side, and before it moves it sword climb on the right hand. There is a circular stone pad on the hands, you can stand there to avoid falling.
Try reaching the top, it is a small place when you attack he will shake his badly, try to keep a good grip while he is moving and attack. At all cost you have to stay on the top, don’t attack when he is moving his head. For the next mark, you have to look on the left hand, you will find the next soft point. In case you fall, wait near the stone area for the colossi to attack then climb through the sword once again. Gaius is very shaky, so wait for a turn to attack, in this way you can save your time from falling down and climbing up once again. For the final point you have to walk towards his stomach and attack there to bring it down.
Defeating Phaedra (Equus Prime) Colossi – Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Walkthrough
For fourth colossi, exit the place from the left end side, draw your sword and it will take you to the south-east side. You will have to pass between the mountains that will take you to a new grassy region. Take the path on your right end and go through the mountain edges. Cross the grass area and on your left, you will pot the colossi. This one looks like a horse, and it can attack you with stomping. You have to find a way to reach the forehead. There are small caves opening on the ground, let the colossi come near you and jump into the cave entrance to reach the backside of Phaedra.
It will bend down to investigate and that’s your time to climb from behind. Attack on the back of neck first, and then take the forehead. Don’t lose your grip as it tilts the head backside. Keep on attacking till the mark is gone, next, you have to towards the right leg and the left. Destroy all the marks to kill the colossi. Phaedra will stomp on the ground at that time avoid attacking keep a hold on the creature.
