If you’ve gotten your fill breezing past your CPU opponents in Star Wars: Galactic Racer, now is probably the time to test your mettle against other real players in Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode. This time around, Multiplayer ups the ante by taking the game’s roguelike experience but giving players more agency. This means you can set up a lot of the stakes on top of the randomization elements the game already offers.
While there are more intricacies in Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode that you can study, sometimes the best way to learn is to play. And to lose and to play some more. But if you want to get ahead as early as possible, here are some tips you can apply in your more intense Galactic Racer multiplayer matches:
Avoid The Crash, The Rest Follows

This might seem counterintuitive at first: “don’t crash.” Of course you’re not supposed to crash in Galactic Racer. But more to the point here, every crash puts your placement more at risk, as other racers who do play carefully are rewarded (they pass you). Not to mention, they now know exactly what not to do, thanks to your demonstration.
Even at the risk of losing, prioritize careful driving. When you start avoiding your crashes, you form habits on maneuvering your vehicle and knowing when to abuse your Ramjet or over-depend on your Afterburner. If you know when not to crash, these safety habits become second nature and leave you more open to squeezing in a little more aggression.
Knowing The Map Is Half The Battle

Similar to other racing games, Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode also uses the same maps you’ve been playing on in singleplayer. This means any given Planet likely has the same tracks you’ve encountered, including every annoying gimmick or disastrous turn you keep on missing. Likewise, if you know your way around Galactic Racer maps, then your multiplayer matches become a challenge of knowing the track better than anyone else.
Shortcuts matter here. Knowing common crash sites (a pesky turn, a random boulder) makes it very motivating to get slightly aggressive. Oh, a brush past their vehicle was more than enough to send them crashing? Totally not deliberate on your part, for sure.
Play It Cool, Ride It Out (Don’t Fight)

As you engage in more Multiplayer Tours, the more you might notice other players just love duking it out against each other with Takedowns and other more offensive Abilities. There’s just nothing more satisfying than seeing the crash cam of a rival being blasted to smithereens. And even more so if this gets them particularly vindicated.
But Takedowns don’t exactly dictate the Race. If you want to secure more wins in Multiplayer Mode just ride the coattails of your rivals (slipstream) while everyone else fights. Then during the very last lap or so, just Surge via the slipstream or get that Ramjet roaring and steal the spotlight.
Play With Your Archetype

As you make progress with Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode, you’ll slowly unlock more characters to play as. Alongside each character choice is a Racer Style, giving you the same perks and Ability unlocks that you get when you play them in a standard run.
But the key to maximizing your character of choice in Galactic Racer is to play with the archetype they represent. There are a lot of Abilities and Parts you can get to customize your build. But the important part here is to make a build that plays off your chosen Racer Style. For example, if your character has any of the Ramjet Racer Styles (Redliner, Ramjet Rider, Ice Cold, etc.) then make sure your build gives you as much boost with your Ramjet or helps you with another area you’re having a hard time controlling.
Turning Is Your Best Friend

Speaking of “hard time to control,” when in doubt, always improve Cornering. Tricky turns are the number one cause of crashes in Galactic Racer, and making sure your vehicle can handle pesky turns – especially close to the endgame – can guarantee more consistent wins.
Better Cornering also means better maneuverability when you pull off your brakes or use any of the special moves (Drift, Kinetic Burst, Knife Edge), so you can maximize your presence in those corners.
Use The Path Of Least Economic Resistance

Since Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode puts you and other players on the same route, you’d notice early on that those who finish on the podium often had the best Parts and Abilities. That’s normal, since rewards do scale the higher your placement. So, the more upgrades you get, the better your overall performance becomes. But securing the podium isn’t the only way to get the economic advantage.
Make sure you choose paths that offer the most rewards you can sensibly work with. Don’t take unnecessary risks you can’t reasonably pull off. Sidebets matter the most here since they provide a quick profit – if you can always maintain your place here then you get a lot of opportunities to secure Credits for upgrades.
Finish 1st Last, Never At The Start

Being a racing game, it’s no surprise that Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode also encourages players to just love the thrill of being first. Nothing’s better than seeing everyone else try so hard to keep up. But if you’ve ever been hit with a Blue Shell in Mario Kart, you know being first makes you everyone’s primary target. After all, if you’re that good, that means you’re open for a little competition.
And since crashing puts you closer to ending an entire Multiplayer run, that kind of risk isn’t worth it. If you’re confident in your racing skill, just maintain a middle placement (3rd to 5th) and breeze through the majority of the race. Only pull off your dashingly cool moves when it’s the last lap. By then, no one can probably get juiced up fast enough to stop you from winning. Just make sure you have enough firepower to keep your speed up as well.
Every Racer in Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode

When you enter Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode for the first time, you start as Shade. And almost everyone you meet, assuming they start for the first time as well, will also be Shade. But this isn’t always the case. As you increase your Rank, you will eventually unlock other Multiplayer Racers.
Each Multiplayer Racer embodies a Racer Style or a kit that encourages a specific playstyle. Check out this ranking of each Galactic Racer Racer Style to learn more.
Unlockable Racers in Galactic Racer Multiplayer Mode
| Character | Unlocks at | Racer Style |
| Shade | Default | Ramjet Rider: Use Vent (Ability) to forcibly cool down the vehicle, making it faster to reuse the Ramjet |
| Katja Mox | Rank 2 | Tech Expert: Use Status Scrubber (Ability) to remove debuffs and Concussion Mine (Ability) to stun enemies with explosive charges. When you do run out of energy, you regain it faster |
| Griff Halloran | Rank 4 | Afterburner: The Afterburner now lasts much longer and is more powerful. Overtakes also slowly refill the Afterburner |
| Ary Quill | Rank 6 | Redliner: Use Surge (Ability) to get faster acceleration, while the Ramjet gets a bigger Redlining Zone. Putting it there will make the Ramjet more powerful, but you’re at more risk getting overheated and crashing on the spot |
| Soren Zaks | Rank 8 | Engineer: Use Status Scrubber (Ability) to nullify debuffs, and gain Surging (faster acceleration) whenever you clear System Malfunctions. You also recover much faster from System Malfunctions and Critical Malfunctions |
| Nik Skandaro | Rank 12 | Survivor: Use the Shield (Ability) to get Shielded from Crashes and collisions. You also get more speed but lose the debuff on your first Crash. When you do lose Shielded, you get Surging (faster acceleration) |
| Goli & O2-R0 | Rank 18 | Clean Racer: Use Overtaking Surge (Ability) to get faster acceleration whenever you overtake, and doing 5 overtakes recovers 1 Energy. You gain more top speed whenever you Surge for 10 seconds, but you lose this whenever you get a System Malfunction |
| Fola Kanjen | Rank 22 | Tenacious: Use Autopilot (Ability) to temporarily give up control of the vehicle to the computer. Get faster overheat cooldowns (Cooled) when you’re in 9th Place or lower, and you get faster acceleration (Surging) after you reset from a Crash |
| Sen Fira | Rank 24 | Slipstreamer: Use Surge (Ability) to gain faster acceleration on command, although you gain a similar perk when you slipstream or stay behind an opponent. When you leave an opponent’s slipstream, you get that acceleration boost for much longer |
| Biddy Blas | Rank 26 | Firebug: Use Flame Vent (Ability) to forcibly cool your vehicle so you can use your Ramjet faster, but doing so will do an AOE Burn and stun on nearby opponents. Whenever you’re Burning, you get more powerful Afterburner and Ramjet boosts. And you do get the Burning status for 5s after using the Ramjet |
| Malis Vazosk | Rank 30 | Brawler: Use Ion Bolt (Ability) to stun the nearest opponent. Whenever you takedown an enemy, you gain 1 Energy and Surging (faster acceleration) for 10 seconds |
| Lyren Shok | Rank 34 | Stunt Runner: Use Vectored Shockwave (Ability) to do an AOE stun while also propelling yourself upwards. And Perfect Landings on the ground will fully refill your Afterburner and give you a speed boost upon usage. Whenever you’re airborne, that speed boost post-landing with the Afterburner gets yet another boost |
| Kestar Bool | Rank 40 | Weaponized: Use Ion Bolt (Ability) to stun the nearest enemy. Alternatively, you can use Shockwave (Ability) and Concussion Mine (Ability) for different variations of AOE stuns. You gain 1 Energy whenever you hit 2 opponents with your Abilities |
