Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury provides two varying styles of Mario games. On the one hand, 3D World is very linear and is closer to a traditional 2D Mario game. Make your way to Bowser’s Fury, though, and you find an open world sandbox mode closer to the likes of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Odyssey. In this open world, you find Cat Shines that will help bring Bowser back to his usual size and less scary state. Along the way, you will need to find and rescue the brave and adventurous Toad Brigade. Finding each one will reward you with a Cat Shine. Here is where to find the Toad Brigade in Bowser’s Fury.
Before you can begin finding the Toad Brigade, you will first need to capture at least 50 Cat Shines and defeat Fury Bowser to make the credits roll. After the credits are done, load back into Bowser’s Fury, and you will notice some changes to the map. Bowser Jr will now allow you to fast travel between islands, which will come in handy to us. If you walk forward from where you start, you will find Toadette, who shows a missing Toads speech bubble. Time to begin finding them.
First, fast travel to Scamper Shores and turn right immediately. Captain Toad is on this small island running from a line of enemies. Defeat them, and he will reward you with a Cat Shine.
The next Toad is a little tricky if you do not know where to find him. Fast travel to Slipskate Slope. In front of you is a line of Question Blocks. Jump up into one to make it a propeller block. We are going to need it.
Run down on the side of the slope past the spikes. Drop down and get ready to use the propeller box to stop your fall and land on a ledge beneath the slope. Yellow Toad is sitting here and will give you your next Cat Shine.
The next Toad is on the northernmost part of the map. You cannot fast travel directly here, so jump on Plessie and swim to the location in the screenshot below.
When you get here, you need to use three of the flinging sticks to get across the sea of goop in front of you. Land safely on the island on the other side, and you will find Green Toad surrounded by a bunch of cats.
The final Toad Brigade member is found on Mount Magmeow. When you get here, climb to the top of the mountain. There is no shortcut up there, so use the switch platforms and pipes until you reach the tippy top.
Run forward from the pipe you use to get up here, and you will see Blue Toad running in circles around a Conkdor. Defeat the bird, and you will be given your final Cat Shine for this quest.
Return to Furstep Island whenever you want, and you can see the entire Toad Brigade gathered around where you found Toadette earlier.
