E3 2018 was a busy week for PlayStation 4 fans after Jump Force, Cyberpunk 2077, and Resident Evil 2’s remake were all revealed.
E3 2018 has come and gone, but this week’s show proved incredibly exciting for PlayStation 4 fans around the world. Dozens of games were revealed for Sony’s console this year, with gameplay trailers released for both Death Stranding and Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake.
If you missed this week’s press conferences and are interested in catching up, here’s every major PlayStation 4 game that was revealed during the week. This includes games that did not receive extensive gameplay or story trailers prior to E3 2018, such as Death Stranding’s in-game scenes recorded from a PlayStation 4 Pro.
Jump Force
Bandai Namco’s Jump Force brings Shonen Jump’s greatest heroes together from Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and more in a fighting game with tag-team gameplay similar to Marvel vs. Capcom. Expect Jump Force on PlayStation 4 in 2019.
Cyberpunk 2077
Six years after Cyberpunk 2077 was announced by CD Projekt Red, the world finally got its first in-engine trailer detailing the game’s futuristic dystopian world. While no release date is set yet for this enormous first-person RPG, Cyberpunk 2077 is currently planned for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 changes all the rules. In this game, the choices you make throughout the many quests will dramatically alter the world. At night, however, is when the world is at its deadliest so prepare to advance in the day and survive in the night.
Metro: Exodus
A new trailer and official release date for Metro: Exodus was up next. It’ll be released on Feb. 22, 2019.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
The next game from From Software looks to retain most of the core signature combat style that fans of games like Dark Souls know and love. The different visuals and settings, however, are sure to intrigue anyone when the game launches sometime in the future.
FIFA 19
EA Sports’ hit soccer series FIFA is back. Featuring improved graphics and the UEFA Champions League, expect FIFA 19 for Sept. 28 on PlayStation 4.
Disgaea 1 Complete
Disgaea 1 Complete returns fans to the original Disgaea with a new HD remaster. New features include the Item World to explore and the bonus Etna Mode campaign. Disgaea 1 Complete launches on PlayStation 4 on Oct. 9.
Death Stranding
Finally, after years of teaser trailers and story hints, Kojima Productions unveiled Death Stranding’s gameplay in its E3 2018 trailer. Expect to traverse strange worlds as Sam Porter Bridges, a working-class traveler who finds himself targeted by invisible time-altering creatures. There’s no release date set for Death Stranding, but the game’s E3 trailer was rendered with the PlayStation 4 Pro, suggesting that the game will launch during the current console generation.
Nioh 2
Nioh 2Â was confirmed during the Sony press conference with a short teaser trailer. Not much is known about the title at this time as fans eagerly await more information from the team behind it in the future.
Control
Remedy Entertainment’s next game Control was finally revealed during Sony’s E3 press conference. Players serve as Jesse Faden, the Bureau of Control’s director, as she goes up against supernatural creatures. Expect Control to launch on PlayStation 4 during 2019.
Just Cause 4
Just Cause 4’s new trailer revealed a new feature for the series with extreme weather like tornadoes, lightning, sandstorms, and blizzards being added into the game. The world retains its insane open-world dynamic and is sure to be a smash hit when it releases Dec. 4.Â
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey brings the series to Ancient Greece, letting players choose between the Spartans Alexios or Kassandra. Expect Odyssey to land on PlayStation 4 on Oct. 5, 2018. Fans who pre-order Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Collector’s Edition can start playing the game three days early on Oct. 2.
Skull and Bones
Interested in sailing the seven seas and doing battle with merchant ships and pirates alike? Skull and Bones, Ubisoft’s new multiplayer pirate game, promises to let players build their own pirate legend in a realistic world inspired by Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s seafaring gameplay. Skull and Bones launches on PlayStation 4 in 2019.
The Division 2
Ubisoft’s The Division is back, and The Division 2 returns to plague-ravaged apocalyptic America within the U.S. Capitol. Serving as agents for The Division, players will face off against a tyrannical and fascist force while trying to protect Washington, D.C.’s citizens from harm. The Division 2 releases on March 15, 2019 for PlayStation 4.
Fallout 76
Fallout 76 brings the Fallout universe into a massively multiplayer online world, where Vault Dwellers compete with one another, or work together, in order to build a better society after the nuclear Great War turned America into a radioactive wasteland. Expect Fallout 76 for PlayStation 4 on Nov. 14, 2018.
Fallout Shelter
During Bethesda’s E3 2018 press conference, the publisher unveiled its free-to-play Vault Tec Vault simulator Fallout Shelter for PlayStation 4. The game is available now through the PlayStation Store.
Wolfenstein: Young Blood
Wolfenstein: Youngblood puts players in the shoes of B.J.’s twin daughters Jess and Soph as they resist the Nazis during 1980 in Paris. The game is the first to add a co-op experience to the series, with no release date yet.
Doom: Eternal
A reboot to 2016’s Doom reboot, Doom: Eternal takes place on Earth after it has been ravaged by Hell’s forces after the events of the first game. More information for the title will be revealed during QuakeCon 2018, which begins Aug. 9.
Rage 2
Rage 2 was a surprise announcement in Bethesda’s E3 arsenal this year but it did not disappoint. A seamless open-world apocalyptic world is yours to freely explore where there is nothing short on things to do. The game is set to launch in Spring 2019.
Resident Evil 2
Last but not least, Capcom unveiled its remake of Resident Evil 2, introducing new gameplay mechanics like limb targeting, improved gore effects, an over-the-shoulder camera, and supply scavenging to block off windows. Expect Resident Evil 2’s remake to launch on PlayStation 4 on Jan. 25, 2019.
