CD Projekt Red has confirmed that its upcoming first-person action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 won’t feature any loading screens.

That’s an impressive statement for a game that we already know will have massive in-game worlds to explore. The information was shared via associate design director Kyle Rowley, in the official Cyberpunk 2077 Discord, via SpielTimes.

“There are no loading screens after the initial load into the game,” Rowley said.

Currently, in the developer’s latest project, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game’s regions are actually navigated via menus that players can go in and out of. It might be the case for Cyberpunk 2077 that instead, all the regions can be traveled while out in the world, as they’re connected in such a way that allows this. We’ll have to wait until additional information comes out to know more, unfortunately.

During E3 2018, we were treated to a new chunk of footage from Cyberpunk 2077, after waiting quite a long time for so much as an update. We’ve since learned that the game will allow players to customize their characters, identify as virtually any sexuality they choose, and even earn points toward a “cool” stat for street cred. We’re still without a release date for the ambitious title, but we certainly know more about the game than before, and it’s looking cooler with every new tidbit we see.

We can at the very least confirm that the game is set to arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC when it does reach retail shelves. CD Projekt RED has said in the past that this will happen, well, “when it’s ready.”
