Xbox's July Games with Gold include Splinter Cell: Conviction and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
Microsoft has revealed its monthly lineup of free games for Xbox Live Gold members, and the games up for grabs in July are definitely worth picking up. The excellent, frenetic fighter Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction will be available for members, as well as two games that you may not have had a chance to try before.
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will be available on July 1 for both Xbox One and Xbox 360. It's the the latest in the Virtua Fighter series, and a good gateway into fighting games if you're intimidated by titles like Street Fighter or Dead or Alive. With a wide selection of fighters and extensive tutorial mode for beginners, it's a great option. Not to mention it will be free.
Splinter Cell: Conviction originally released in 2010. It follows Sam Fisher on a mission to find the whereabouts of his missing daughter. It's available from July 16 through July 31 and will be available for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
There are two smaller games available as well, in the form of Assault Android Cactus and Death Squared. Assault Android Cactus tasks you with blasting through tons of malevolent robots, while Death Squared is a co-op puzzler. You can pick up Assault Android Cactus first when it arrives on July 1, and then Death Squared when it hits on July 16.
It's the dead of summer, with a sparse game releases schedule until the ridiculous full slate we're waiting for this fall. May as well go ahead and add these games to your collection. They'll remain free for the duration of your Xbox Live Gold membership.
