WayForward Technologies have announced that Shantae 5 will be getting a new animated opening that is being created by Studio Trigger.
WayForward Technologies has revealed that notable Japanese animation studio, Trigger Studios, will be working on the opening animation for Shantae 5.
The Shantae game series is a chain of platforming games starring the titular Shantae, who is a half-genie hero. WayForward, an independent gaming studio, develop the series.
The last title in the franchise, Shantae: ½ Genie Hero, was released back in December 2016.
Shantae 5 was announced in March by WayForward. The game is slated to release later this year and is expected to release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Apple Arcade.

Since WayForward’s initial announcement, they did not reavel too much information about Shantae 5. Early today, WayForward tweeted on their official Twitter account new information about the upcoming Shantae game.
In the tweet, WayForward announced that Trigger Studios would create the animated opening for Shantae 5. The Tweet shares two pieces of artwork that feature Shantae herself, and Shantae’s nemesis, Risky Boots.

For those that may not know, Trigger Studios is one of the more popular Japanese animation studios in the country. They worked on popular anime like Kill La Kill, Little Witch Academia, and Darling in the Franxx. The upcoming animated movie, Promare, will be Trigger’s first feature-length project.
Trigger Studios has also worked on several video games, including the forthcoming Kill la Kill: The Game – IF.
Shantae 5 is expected to release later this year on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, and Apple Arcade.
