For those having an itch to jump into a mech game, have no fear. The Iron Harvest 1920 Kickstarted-based video game came out with a brand new story trailer, giving a small hint to the gameplay. Not only do players get a glimpse at the game, but they also get an official release date of Sept. 1, 2020. The footage came out during Gamescom 2019.

You can check out the full trailer below to check out the story behind the game, the gameplay, and see the official release date. While the developers have a set release date, this can still change depending on development issues or delays.

The game has been in development for a great deal of time with King Art Games. The developers got a big boost from the gaming community by creating a Kickstarter campaign for the project. They reached their initial goals. They created new goals, which they reached, and the Kickstarter campaign was able to reach across $1,500,000.

Iron Harvest takes place in a world where after World War I, the citizens began to work on creating massive mechs for them to use in warfare. However, instead of having these large creations run on some solar-powered network or science-fiction-based concept, they purely run on steam. If anyone has played the board game Scythe, you may notice some of the overall visuals of the game are similar to it. The developer shave confirmed Iron Harvest and Scythe share the same world.

The game is going to feature a classic real-time strategy environment where a player beats another by outmaneuvering them, not clicking faster. Players can look forward to base building, using cover, destroying buildings, and a story told from three different faction’s perspective.

You cannot pre-order the game right now, but you add it to your wishlist on Steam and GOG. The game’s release date, at this time, is set to Sept. 1, 2020.
