The Avengers game shows what happens when the team loses against a foe who out thinks them, and how this is going to be Crystal Dynamics’ interpretation of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Avengers Endgame hit it big this year as a standout movie that closed up the current Marvel cinematic universe storyline that had started ten years ago. Now, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have teamed up to bring us a brand new Marvel’s Avengers video game.
We were shown brief details of several heroes during the announcement. We saw Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, and Black Widow fighting alongside each other, and we got a brief glimpse of their unique abilities. Thor had his signature lightning, Iron Man his powerful beam attack, and Hulk smashed.
We did not learn too much about the gameplay from the first trailer. We did see the Avengers have something unique happen: they lost. They lost, and Captain America paid the ultimate price.
We do know it’s going to be a four-player online co-op game, where players can customize their favorite heroes to look unique for them. What we saw during the announcement gave us a brief idea of how much customization players can potentially do from the games.
There’s going to be more heroes and regions added to the game post-launch. However, Crystal Dynamics made sure to outline they’re going to bring all of this additional content at no extra cost to the player base.
The first additional hero coming to the game is going to be an older Antman, featuring Hank Pym.
The Marvel’s Avengers game got announced in 2017, and the project has been ever since. Now that we have additional details, they announced that the game is going to launch May 15, 2020. It’s coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.
