There’s a new Blair Witch gameplay trailer where we get a better idea regarding some of the weirder, supernatural elements of the game. The trailer focuses on what players are going to be doing while they play, what foes they have to contend with, and the difficult journey they’re going on in the game.

A notable feature detailed in the trailer shows the dog going out and perform tasks for the player. The radial map for the dog commands shows five things the dog can do. When players approach a particular icon, they have the dog dig up items for them. It gives the dog a far more useful role in the game, rather than being a following companion.

Additionally, there’s some lost footage stuff happening in the trailer where players attempt to connect what happened before they arrived in the woods. There’s a single, creepy house that’s going to show up in the game. It’s going to feature a handful of terrifying rooms, disturbing drawings, and psychotic breaks the player is going to need to peer through as they journey through the game.

Closer to the trailer’s end, we get a good glimpse at some of the monsters wandering around the game. These are likely going to show up given some certain, critical pieces of storytelling that are going to happen we haven’t seen yet.

We’ll learn more soon as the game is out before the end of the summer. The Blair Witch game launches on Aug. 30 for the Xbox One and PC. You can pre-order here to reserve your copy.
