A Black conservative content creator says someone asked her to leave a Texas Senate campaign event on Sunday and gave no reason. According to Newsweek, Thelma Louise drove two hours to reach a San Antonio rally for Ken Paxton, then described the experience on TikTok as “beyond disrespectful.” She was at the event to film it for her followers. In one clip, she asks an apparent escort, “And there’s no one that I can talk to about this?”
In another, she tells viewers that someone approached her and told her the Paxton campaign manager wanted her out. She insists she “did nothing wrong.” A later clip shows her tearful as she says, “I cannot believe it.” Nothing in her account has been independently confirmed. Louise states that she parted ways with the Democrats two years back and has since worked for Republicans, including as a volunteer for Trump’s 2024 campaign.
She displayed press passes from earlier party gatherings: the Republican midterm convention in Dallas and the Texas Youth Summit, where Paxton appeared. She told viewers that anyone who follows her page knows “how hard I have worked for this party since I joined.” She also considered that she might have been confused with another person.
Louise blames the campaign manager
Louise stated that the Republican Party itself is not at fault, saying members “welcomed me with open arms.” She places the responsibility on Paxton’s campaign manager, whom she calls “100 percent responsible.” She says nobody has offered an explanation and describes feeling singled out as she was led away in front of a crowd. She told viewers she could not tell what was going on.
She first shared a video of her arrival and then footage of herself being escorted out, with on-screen text calling herself a Republican who has supported her party. Her clips show no disturbance before she left, although a clip cannot capture everything that happened. The event promoted early voting, which began across Texas on Monday.
The outlet emailed the campaign after business hours and also messaged Louise on social media. Another clip, filmed outside the venue, shows her wiping her eyes, with on-screen text saying she was only recording footage to share online. Her account regularly carries pro-Trump and Republican content, and the Dallas convention took place in September.
Paxton, the Texas attorney general, is touring the state on a “Come and Take It” bus tour during the final weeks of the campaign. The November 3 matchup pits him against Democratic nominee James Talarico in a race that the report ranks among the closest Senate contests nationwide. Rallies like this one fill the final weeks before an election, and Trump rallied for Andy Biggs at an Arizona airport earlier this month.
