Many sports fans were shocked when the Philadelphia Eagles took down the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII on Sunday, Feb. 4.
The Eagles won 41-33, and were led by quarterback Nick Foles, who was named the Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 373 yards and three touchdowns—and he even contributed a receiving touchdown, too.
Foles is being rewarded for his play by earning a 99-rating card in Madden 18’s Ultimate Team. Ultimate Team is a game mode where you try to build the best team possible by collecting cards of NFL players—and now, Foles is the highest-rated card in Madden 18’s Ultimate Team.
That’s right, Foles is the not only the No. 1 quarterback in MUT, but also the best overall player currently in the game mode. This is pretty remarkable for a backup QB who was previously a 75-rating, even if he just won the biggest game in professional football.
Although many fans might be outraged that Foles has a higher rating than five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady—who threw for 505 yards and three touchdowns last Sunday—it appears that this 99-rating card has become a tradition in MUT. Last year when the Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, Brady also earned a 99-rating card—even though he probably already had a high-rated card because he’s widely-considered the best QB in NFL history.
If you play Madden 18’s Ultimate Team, you’ll probably want to try to get your hands on this Foles card.
