Though they had been announced a little while back, neither the Richter Belmont nor Dark Samus Amiibo had gotten any kind of release date yet. That changed this morning, however, when Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Nintendo of America confirmed on its Twitter feed today that both characters would be available for purchase starting on Jan. 17. They’re pictured above, and will no doubt be must-haves for collectors of all things Smash Bros. They’re expected to retail for around $12.99 apiece.

Fans will remember Richter from the Castlevania series, most notably for his appearance in the Turbo-Grafx game Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, as well as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. He was first confirmed for the game back in Aug. 2018.

Meanwhile, Dark Samus, initially introduced in the Metroid Prime series back on Nintendo GameCube (and, later, the Wii, with Metroid Prime Trilogy), acts as the “dark” version of the legendary Samus Aran, complete with equally strong abilities and a savvy looking Phazon Suit.

Though the release of only two Amiibo may be a little on the short side (compared to the usual three), these will no doubt make great additions to anyone’s collection. And, as always, they’ll provide a nice little boost in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as well, when scanned on your Nintendo Switch system.

Pre-orders for the characters should be ready soon. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for Nintendo Switch.
