DICE revealed new modes, features, and DLC plans for Star Wars Battlefront 2 during EA Play’s E3 press conference earlier today.
After touching on Star Wars Battlefront 2’s initial troubles, EA explained the next step in the game’s free DLC. Clone Wars DLC will feature General Grievous, Count Dooku, Anakin Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, who are all confirmed to be coming to the game as new characters.
DICE also said that Genesis will be one of the major new maps added into the game alongside the future Clone Wars DLC, and it’s expected to be one of the biggest maps ever created for the Battlefront series.
Other than the initial announcement, DICE will be introducing a new squad system into the game to make it easier to team up with friends. A new starfighter mode that will only allow players to fight with hero ships, like the Millennium Falcon, was also revealed during the initial keynote. Another big mode coming to the game in the future included large-scale maps with command posts, as well as attacking and taking down capital ships.
Today’s news follows the reveal of new cosmetic skins coming to the game on June 12. The skins are based on the young actors in the Han Solo movie, including Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and Leia.
The Millennium Falcon is also getting a fresh new skin based off of Lando’s Millennium Falcon design. All of the new skins will be available to buy in-game via Credits or Crystals.
