Two new Pokémon were revealed for Pokémon Sword and Shield during September’s Nintendo Direct.
September’s Nintendo Direct revealed two more new Pokémon for the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield games.
Nintendo Direct went all-in with the Pokémon content reveals. Two new Pokémon coming to the Galar Region’s Poké Dex during the latest trailer. Nintendo posted Twitter pictures as the trailer aired, showing the new Pokémon in more detail.
First in Nintendo Direct’s announcement, but second on the official trailer, is the aptly named Polteageist.
Cramorant is a Flying & Water type Pokémon that swallows anything that looks hearty enough. It also has its own exclusively ability, Gulp Missile. Watch it use Surf or Dive in battle as it rises from the water, along with its catch. pic.twitter.com/LL9L7pRfXL

This delightfully punny Pokémon, Polteageist, is a Ghost-type and it’s a bit of a pest in the Galar Region. According to the website, Polteageist can pour power into leftover tea and create more of itself. It has the ability Weak Armor and often let its trainer taste its tea.
The other, Cramorant, a Flying and Water-type Pokémon. It’s a bit more unique than the adorable Polteageist but perhaps lacks the charm. Cramorant is a “voracious eater” and will even attack its trainer, should they steal its food. A unique ability from Cramorant is after using Dive or Surf it reappears with a fish in its mouth. Using its particular ability Gulp Missile, it then flings the fish at the next Pokémon who attacks it.
These Pokémon and more are coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield on Nov. 15 for the Nintendo Switch.
