Toads are collectible in Paper Mario: The Origami King. As odd as that sounds, since the Mushroom Kingdom was, once again, destroyed, it scattered various Toads across the map. Finding and rescuing each Toad rewards the player with trophies and lets Toads cheer you on in battle.

Once players meet Captain Toad in Paper Mario: The Origami King, new travel opportunities unlock. Players can travel the Great Sea, a location littered with tiny islands and Toads to rescue. There are eleven islands to find, and each has a Toad hidden on it. Not the most crucial of sidequests, but for those looking to fully complete the game, not one to miss.

These islands are very small. The waters are relatively open, so it’s easy to pass by them without realizing that one small rock with a hill is actually the island to stop and investigate. We have a map of all the islands (and the diving locations) for players who hope to quickly rescue all of the cruise ship Toads.

In the map above, the eleven islands are the symbols: Tower, Heart, Diamond, etc. The diving locations are marked with a red “X.”

The islands are only accessible after speaking with Captain Toad. You’ll first need to find him. He will agree to travel the seas with you and take you where you need to go. Once you’re onboard, you control the ship and need to stop at each island and find the hidden Toads.
