For some reason, people love Monster Trucks. Whether they’re children, petrol-heads, or Rednecks, the sight of a super jacked vehicle with wheels that are bigger than your house can get the blood flowing and the whooping and the hollering cranked up too loud and obnoxious levels.

Even though I have no American in my family, though I do look great in a cowboy hat, boots, and a set of chaps, I’ve always had a soft spot for these behemoth machines myself. I have no idea why, but it’s probably got something to do with the fact they have Monster in their name and lay down a path of destruction that is usually reserved for a big old hurricane.

But what do you do if you’ve still got that monster itch to scratch when you’re sat at home in front of your PC or console or sat on the toilet with your phone in your hand? What are the best Monter Truck games that you can play in the comfort of your own home? What follows will answer those questions as we take a look at the best Monster Truck games available to you today.

10 Best Monster Truck Games and Mods

Monster Truck Destruction

Monster Truck Destruction

Let’s start this guide with a strange one. Not that the game itself is weird in any way, shape, or form as it’s precisely what you’d expect from a Monster Truck game. You jump into one of the 60 licensed trucks on offer and battle your way across four championship’s, over 28 tracks, which is pretty standard fare. No, what is strange here is just how different the review scores are between the two formats it’s available on. The Steam Store only gives it three out of five, which means the PC version isn’t that great, but if you download it via Google Play, you’re looking at four and a half out of five. So if you’re going to cause carnage with this game, I’d advise getting it for your phone.

GTA Online

GTA Online

Oh come on, don’t look that surprised; it was apparent I was going to get a Rockstar game in here somehow. If you venture into Los Santos, you’ll find that you can participate in a lot of different activities, and some of the most fun are the landraces. These are made even better when you discover that there are more than enough Monster Truck challenges here to more than satisfy your destructive needs. But if you still feel as if you haven’t got your fill, then head over to Arena Wars and squash your fellow players in some of the nastiest looking vehicles that you could imagine.

Monster Jam

Monster Jam

There have been a fair few games in the Monster Jam series, so there’s bound to be something in there to keep you entertained, but for me, the best one was this 2007 release that was developed by Torus Games and released by Activision. God knows why to mind you; it’s ugly as hell, and it doesn’t handle that brilliantly, but for some reason, I still have a soft spot for it in my heart. If you don’t mind games that are so bad that they’re quite good, then I can highly recommend this, but if you want something that’s actually worth the money you’re going to fork out for it, then I highly suggest you look elsewhere.

Monster Truck Madness 2

Monster Truck Madness 2

Following hot on the heels of the original Monster Truck Madness, this 1998 sequel sees pretty much more of the same come crashing onto your PC. That isn’t a bad thing mind you as the first game was, at the time, a very good interpretation of what monster Truck racing was actually like so they took the basic idea from that and just added a whole host of new bells and whistles to it, such as Online Multiplayer, truck named after WCW wrestlers, and a much more entertaining commentary provided by Army Armstrong.

Farming Simulator 19

Farming Simulator 19

Yes, you did read that correctly, and no, I swear, I’m not making this up, but it seems that life down on the farm got a little bit boring for F19 Mods, who decided to spruce things up by adding Grave Digger to the game. If, like them, you find Farming Simulator 19 somewhat on the dull side, then get yourself a copy of this mod, and you can go to town in one of the most legendary Monster Trucks of all time. I have no idea if you can do any work while in this beast, but I’d love to think you can. Plowing would never be so much fun.

BeamNG.drive

BeamNG.drive

BeamNG.drive prides itself on being “…a realistic, immersive driving game.” that offers “…near-limitless possibilities.”. It’s an Early Access game that has been garnering very positive reviews over on Steam and allows you to crash any vehicle you can find into any other vehicles on the road. Which sounds like a laugh. Whether you own this game already or are thinking about buying it, then you could do a lot worse than adding this mod to the game. It’s a professionally designed Monster Truck that you can use to leave a wake of destruction in your path.

Monster Truck Arena Driver

Monster Truck Arena Driver

Yet another game for your Mobile Phone, Monster Truck Arena Driver is a “Free To Play” available from Google Play. Test your driving skills and imagination across 50 different missions, but make sure you play up to the crowd as their enjoyment has to be at its highest possible level for you to be able to advance. But buyer beware. Like all “Free To Play” options, you’ll find that the difficulty level will spike dramatically in an attempt to get you to part with real-world money, but Monster Truck Arena Driver can be beaten with a lot of time and patience.

MotorStorm

MotorStorm

The MotorStorm series gave the world enough Monster Truck madness to satisfy even the reddest of necks between 2006 and 2012. This off-road racer consisted of five games, and each one was a blast from start to finish. In this universe, cut-throat tactics were openly encouraged, and the best way to beat your opponent was to, quite literally, beat your opponent with whatever vehicle you happened to be in at the time. The kings and queens of this ultimate destruction were, of course, the Monster Trucks, and there was always something satisfying about imagining the look on your competitors’ faces as you tried to turn their machines into pancakes.

Just Cause 3

Just Cause 3

If you’ve played through Just Cause 3 and already managed to unlock the Incendiario Monster Truck, then you’d be forgiven for thinking that that was all the Monster Truck madness that you could get out of the game. Well, you’d be wrong, my friend, dead wrong as Modder Choklad took a look at this beast and thought, “What that thing need’s is wings.” Want to fly through the skies in the biggest and badest vehicle in the world? Then head over here and download the mod for free.

Mudrunners

Mudrunners

For a game that calls itself the ultimate off-road experience, ti seems a tad strange that it took the Modding Community to add Monster Trucks to the game. But add them they did, and if you want to experience this title with the huge adrenaline rush that only a big wheel can get you then follow this link and soon all the Monster Truck mayhem you could want will be yours.
