This currency is new to CTR, and it’s what you need to expand on the customisation experience.
If you’ve picked up, or are thinking of picking up Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, you may have noticed that Wumpa Coins are showing up as a currency in-game. What are they, what can you use them for, and how do you get them?
Well, Wumpa Coins your key to unlocking all of the good stuff that the game has to offer outside of the rewards earned from completing the game’s Adventure mode.
What are Wumpa Coins and what do they do?
The Wumpa coins are the currency that you can use in the game’s shop, known as the Pit Stop, where you can then spend them on many different items. These include much of the content that the game has to offer surrounding the game’s cosmetics. Unlike with Team Sonic Racing last month, which provided a system for random unlocks via their currency, Nitro Fueled allows you to pick whatever you want is available from the shop at the time.
It is also home to the cast of characters that you can find from the Crash Nitro Kart element of the game. While the original CTR cast is all unlockable in the Adventure and Time Trial modes like the original game, the cast of Crash Nitro Kart, such as Nash the Shark who is available on Day 1, can only be purchased through the store to use in your game.
While the Pit Stop will allow you to buy an item of your choice to customize and outfit many aspects of your game, such as skins for your favorite characters (Scuba Crash is adorable), decals and stickers for your karts and other various accessories, the shop offers options in a timed manner, similar to how Fortnite’s shop works. The items which are currently available will expire after a certain amount of time, so make sure to get in quick!
But how do you get them? Wumpa Coins are not a premium currency, so you are not able to buy them currently and then use them in the shop. That means that the only way to earn the coins is to play the game. Completing a race will earn you coins, with more rewarded for finishing higher, and additional coins for completing challenges. The more that you play, the more you can make and then use to purchase items at the pitstop and show-off online or with friends locally.
We hope that this guide will help understand what Wumpa coins can do to bring you to the top of CTR’s leaderboard.
