The Balrog is one of Dante’s newest gadgets in Devil May Cry 5. These versatile gauntlets give Dante the ability to switch between a mix of deadly kicks & punches. Not only that but The Balrog features an ignition mode which adds extra fiery damage whenever you continually punch or kick enemies. While this guide won’t necessarily make you a SSS god, you’ll understand the basic mechanics and situations in which this weapon shines.

In order to switch between the dual styles of The Balrog, you’ll have to lock onto an enemy using RB/R1. Once you’ve locked onto the enemy, simply hold the left analog stick back and press A/X to change styles. To switch back to the previous Balrog style, repeat the process again and you’ll be able to style on your enemies.

Naturally, the punching style turns Dante into a heavyweight boxing champion. His blows are fast and precise and he has access to dodges as well as. The kicking style gives Dante more launchers and capoeira inspired moves. As far as which moves lead into the biggest and stylish combos, you’ll just have experiment yourself with The Balrog.
