Does Cubchoo have a shiny version in Pokémon Go?

Should you keep looking?

There are various Pokémon for you to capture in Pokémon Go, each of them spawning in specific habitats, and some may only appear more often when it’s raining, snowy, or certain times of the year. If you’re lucky, there’s a tiny chance you could encounter a shiny version of a Pokémon. It’ll have a different, unique coloring than its traditional appearance. For those hunting for every shiny to fill up their PokéDex, does Cubchoo have a shiny version?

Starting on December 18, 2020, when Galarian Mr. Mime arrives to Pokémon Go, Cubchoo receives its shiny form. It’ll be available to all players, even if you do not purchase a ticket for the event. The ticket for the Galarian Mr. Mime event is primarily to ensure players who receive it can encounter a Galarian Mr. Mime.

Following the December 18 Pokémon Go event, Cubchoo will have its shiny form available throughout the year. The traditional look for Cubchoo features a white and cool blue coloring, and the shiny form looks slightly darker, almost a shade of purple. Like most shiny Pokémon, you have a meager chance of catching it, but with enough encounters, you’ll potentially add it to your collection.

Cubchoo evolves into a Beartic. These Pokémon are not ideal for any form of PvP, so they’re mostly PokéDex fillers for those looking to complete their entire collection.
