Gears 5 Relic Weapons Guide – All Locations and Descriptions

Gears 5 is full of powerful Relic Weapons, and collecting them will let you earn the Relic Hunter and Relics from the Past achievements.

Gears 5 already has an impressive arsenal of weapons to help take down the Swarm, but there are weapons hidden throughout the world that will give you even more firepower if you can find them. As you play, you can find Relic Weapons, which provide unique buffs that can make your journey through Sera easier and more fun. As you search for Relic Weapons, keep in mind that they’re usually marked with a Crimson Omen (the Gears logo) nearby.

Once you’ve found enough Relic Weapons in Gears 5, you can earn the Relic Hunter achievement by equipping any three at once, and complete Relics of the Past by killing an enemy with every Relic Weapon in the game.

If you need to see a map to make things easier, we found this helpful video from xGarbett on YouTube to fill in the gaps.

Gears 5 Act 2 Relic Weapons

Enforcer Relic

  • What it does: Fires slower than the standard Enforcer submachine gun, but deals much more damage.
  • Where to find it: Just before opening the Northern Passage in Chapter 2, you’ll find it on the left side of the nearby cliff.

Longshot Relic

  • What it does: Gives you an extra bullet in the chamber when you perform an active reload.
  • Where to find it: The Longshot Relic is near where you picked up the Missing Outsiders mission in Chapter 2, outside New Hope, inside a red shack.

Boltok Relic

  • What it does: Improved handling and increased accuracy when firing from the hip.
  • Where to find it: Locate the Condor crash site nearest to the east tower substation, and you’ll see the Boltok Relic lying under the nearby ice bridge.

Boomshot Relic

  • What it does: Increases magazine size to three rounds.
  • Where to find it: Near the north tower substation in Chapter 4, against the wall in the space between two generators.

Dropshot Relic

  • What it does: Drops a cryo mine that freezes enemies.
  • Where to find it: While searching for the signal for The Source of it All in Chapter 4, keep an eye out for a mound of ice with the Crimson Omen on it. The Dropshot is just behind it.

Torque Bow Relic

  • What it does: Fires bolts more quickly than the standard Torque Bow. While not explosive, they still deal massive damage.
  • Where to find it: From the abandoned mine on the south edge of the valley in Chapter 4, follow the rugged dirt path up among the trees rather than the main path. If you enter from the main gates, it’s the path just to your right.

Retro Lancer Relic

  • What it does: Fires explosive rounds that unleash air-bursts to hit nearby targets.
  • Where to find it: Head northeast from the Old Cog Wall until you hit the northern end of a small pond. Just to the west, there’s a tree next to a massive stone formation with the Retro Lancer Relic leaning up against it.

Hammerburst Relic

  • What it does: Fires longer bursts with successive pulls of the trigger.
  • Where to find it: Directly between the City Ruins and Waterworks icons on the map, you’ll find it in a pile of crates next to a dead body in a dead-end between a fence and a low building.

Markza Relic

  • What it does: Grants full auto-fire when you hold down the trigger.
  • Where to find it: In the trunk of a car in a parking lot just north of the Pump Station.

Snub Relic

  • Where to find it: On a cliff southeast of the rocket hangar against the wall of a building.

Gnasher Relic

  • What it does: Fires a single shot that does massive damage.
  • Where to find it: Along a high cliff wall west of the nomad convoy, directly north of the Water Tower. Keep an eye out for the Crimson Omen and head into the cliff to the right of it.

EMBAR Relic

  • What it does: Charges slowly, but fires an extremely powerful shot.
  • Where to find it: In a downed Condor at the southeast end of the map, west of the Train Turntable.

Lancer Relic

  • What it does: Melee attacks stun enemies, setting them up for a chainsaw kill.
  • Where to find it: Southwest of the Train Bridge, just below the Cargo Shipwreck. You’ll find it in a gap between two rusted metal barriers.

Lancer GL Relic

  • What it does: Alt-fire launches a non-homing grenade that air-bursts when enemies are nearby.
  • Where to find it: In the low valley under the roof south of the Water Tower and west of the Cosmonaut Training Facility, at the base of a pillar.
