Mortal Kombat 11 releases this week, and there’s plenty to enjoy about this gory fighting title. As of right now, many of the gaming journalists are releasing their first impressions of the game and sharing their thoughts on how they believe the franchise has changed over the years, along with many details about the brutality of the game. Still, fans want to know: when are they going to get the chance to play the game? Here’s the break down of when players can start learning their favorite new Kombos.

Mortal Kombat 11 Release Date

April 23, 2019

Mortal Kombat 11 is releasing on the PC, the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and for the Nintendo Switch, all on the same date on April 23. There is no pre-order bonus for this game that grants players access to the content sooner than everyone else. For many recent major releases, this is almost unheard of, but it would appear Netherrealms is eager to have everyone on the same playing field when the game launches to ensure no one has had more time playing the game, outside of the Beta access.

What Time Does The Game Release?

On the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, it states the games are going to release at midnight EDT on April 23. For those on the west coast, you’re going to be able to play a game little earlier in the evening, roughly around 9 PM PST. This time constraint should be the same across all platforms, so for those eager to start playing the game soon, you should pre-loading the game as quickly as possible. The sooner you do it, the sooner you can jump in and start learning your favorite characters and check out the crazy time-based story mode.

Can You Still Pre-order?

Yes, you can. You can still pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 to ensure you have access to Shao Kahn. Those who do not pre-order the game will not have access to him, or they may have to wait a lengthy amount of time before he becomes available for everyone. NetherRealm Studios usually does an excellent job of giving premium access to certain characters, but slowly opens the door the longer their title is available on the market.
