While Red Dead Online’s Frontier Pursuits have been excellent thus far, with several opportunities available, its latest one provides a rather exciting challenge — and no one should miss it.
That’s because, with its latest one, you can become a Moonshiner. The transformation allows you to work your way into the moonshiner industry, in the hopes of making a profit with your unique mix.
It’s not easy, however. But with these tips, you’ll be able to make some of the best moonshines out there.
Getting Started With Being a Moonshiner
First off, you’ll need to level up, as you can’t jump into moonshining right away. You’ll need to have a level 5 ranking or higher with trading or have at least one successful sale as a trader under your belt.
Fortunately, neither of these will take that long if you’re experienced with Red Dead Online. Once that’s done, you’ll need to get into buying supplies. These include setting up a location where you’ll brew your moonshine. To do this, you’re going to need 25 gold bars. If you don’t have it, build it up with one of your other roles in the game.
After your shack is built, you’ll want to track down Maggie. She’s an experienced woman that knows her way around the business. By completing missions for her, you’ll gain access to recipes and lower-priced goods, and build up your business.
Getting Better Supplies
At first, your moonshine will make around $100 a shipment, depending on flavor with which you go. But with any business, there’s always room for improvement. It’s just a matter of buying the right supplies for the job.
Make your way to the Moonshiner Store and look for two particular types of upgrades. The first is the Condense Upgrade. It’s pretty costly, going for around $825 and two tokens. But this will let you create Average Moonshine, which is a level above the Weak Moonshine you start with. The better the quality, the better money you’ll earn. Keep in mind that you’ll need to reach Moonshiner Rank 5 before this option opens up.
The more crucial upgrade, however, is with the Polished Copper Upgrade. It’s a little higher priced at $875 and three tokens. But it’s worth it, as you can level up to Strong Moonshine, the best available. With this, you’ll clean up on even more cash, and mix in additional flavors. It does come with a prerequisite. However — you’ll need to be at Moonshiner Rank 10.
Follow these steps, and you’ll make some of the best moonshines around. But keep a gun handy, because you never know who might show up to try and shut your business down.
