Star Wars: Galactic Racer – What Happens After You Finish Act 3? (Endgame Loop Explained)

When you defeat Kestar Bool in the Galactic League, does it automatically get you in the Star Wars: Galactic Racer endgame loop?

You might think defeating Kestar Bool in the Galactic League Championship will already get you to the Star Wars: Galactic Racer endgame. And you’d be wrong there. Being the sore loser that he is, Kestar Bool takes over the whole tournament and pulls a Seto Kaiba (if you get the Yu-Gi-Oh! reference), turning it into his own tournament. Because screw the rules, the Bools have money.

Act 3 is where all the training wheels come off, and Shade teams up with Sebulba in this extra dangerous podracer (finally)-centric Galactic Tour. It’s only after you defeat Kestar in the finals that the racer roguelike finally enters its endgame… which is, what, exactly?

The big choice to enter Galactic Racer endgame

Finishing Star Wars: Galactic Racer reveals this selector screen in the main menu

After you finish Act 3, you enter the official Galactic Racer endgame – which in this case mostly revolves around two obvious choices. You either restart the campaign all the way from Act 1, or repeat the Galactic Tour but with Act 3 settings. This is presented after the main credits:

  • Continue Campaign: Press as normal to restart the Tour in Act 3
  • Restart Campaign: Press L3 to restart the campaign instead

Repeat Act 3 to unlock everything

Podracing in Star Wars: Galactic Racer

When you choose the main option presented in the post-credits screen (technically the main menu after the game), you’ve chosen to continue the campaign. Doing so will repeat the final tour with all its quirks, specifically the heightened difficulty as well as the Podracing Challenge that serves as a blocker per planet.

Act 3 has the longest Galactic Racer Tour across the three Acts, featuring 27 total events across six planets. And while there’s plenty of Races and prizes to go around, repeating Act 3 is only useful for players who loved its podracing segments. Otherwise, the difficulty spike (especially the first time around) might not be worth as much to repeat.

Repeat Act 1 for faster-paced tours

If you choose the alternative, you get a “repeat” of the full Act 1 experience. This goes all the way back to the starter race. The game clarifies that if you restart your campaign, you keep everything you unlocked in the Logbook thus far, your Tuning Point upgrades assigned to the vehicle, and your badge progress.

Having completed Act 3, you also get access to the Champion difficulty, which is the most difficult challenge rating in the game. Choosing Champion means only having one Crash opportunity by default (augmented by Galactic Racer Favours and other setups). Other players don’t appreciate Act 1 as much as it’s the shorter experience, with the added requirement of going through this pseudo-tutorial just to reach the more optimal Act 2.

Repeat Act 2 with a deliberate choice

Planets in Act 2 of Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Being the mid-point of Galactic Racer gameplay, Act 2 introduces most of the game’s more exciting roguelike options. Players have Backers that provide rewards for complex challenges, the Scrap Dealer can repair Faulty Parts (and introduce high-risk Parts), get Side Bets to trigger your rivals (Biddy Blas) into head-to-heads, and even play through Sebulba Memories. Act 1 doesn’t have most of these, and Act 3 sidelines them with its tougher difficulty.

Ordinarily, you had to trudge through a boring Act 1 just to get to Act 2 in your Galactic Racer endgame. Then you might think you have to finish Act 3 and another Act 1 just to get to Act 2 all over again. But this isn’t really the case, since if you wanted to just replay Act 2 for longer, you can always lose to Kestar in the Galactic League Championship. Doing that effectively restarts Act 2 with your permanent unlocks intact, allowing you to stay and enjoy this chapter for longer.
