Where to get Shrub Starts in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Shrub Starts are a new item that was introduced to Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nature Day. You may need to get your hands on them for a Nook Miles+ challenge or to make your island look beautiful.

You can get Shrub Starts from Leif, who can be found right in front of Resident Services during the Nature Day event. Leif will sell all manner of plants and shrubs, including different types of Shrub Starts.

Shrub Starts are small bushes that you can plant in the ground, and they will eventually grow into a beautiful, flowering shrub. Leif considers them to be halfway between a flower and a tree, which is a pretty apt description.

Find Leif, and you can buy Shrub Starts from him for bells. When they are in your Inventory, you can find where you want to put them, then plant them the same way as anything else.

Dig a hole with your shovel, select the Shrub Start in your inventory, then choose “Plant 1”. They don’t seem to be affected by watering the way flowers are, so it seems you can leave them alone, and they will grow just fine.

As Shrubs are new to the game, you can earn a lot of Nook Miles from planting them, especially if you get the new Nature Day Nook Miles+ challenge, so make sure you keep an eye on your Nook Miles in your phone.
