Dark Souls Remastered Runs At Upscaled 4K/60FPS On PS4 Pro and XB1X

In a Japanese retailer listing, it was first leaked that Dark Souls will get a remaster for the PS4. Now, in a recent Nintendo Direct Mini, the remastered version of the original Dark Souls was officially announced with the technical details. The remaster is a complete rework of the game from the ground up in a new game engine and will be available for PS4, Xbox, PC, and Switch. As it is made in a new engine, it will support the latest high resolutions and higher FPS count.

Dark Souls Remastered - Resolution And FPS For Consoles And Nintendo Switch

On the PS4 and Xbox One, Dark Souls remaster will run at FHD 1080p at 60 FPS. And in case of PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, the game will be upscaled to 4K resolution and 60 FPS. In case of the Switch, when handheld, the game will run at 720p obviously at 30 FPS and when docked the game will support up to 1080p HD at 30 FPS. And lastly, for the PC it will support resolutions up to native 4K.

Along with graphical changes, the concurrent online player count has been increased to 6 players for all the platforms. In addition to that, the game now has dedicated server, instead of P2P connection.

Dark Souls remaster will be releasing on 25th May 2018, for PS4, Xbox, PC, and Switch.
