Dreams Developer Explains Why It Was Delayed So Many Times
Dreams is one of the biggest mysteries in PlayStation 4 lineup, meaning that we don’t have information about a beta that’s been announced ages ago nor a release date outside of a generic 2019.
The game has been delayed multiple times and, during an interview with Game Informer, Dreams' creative director Mark Healey and Media Molecule's studio director Siobhan Reddy have explained why that’s happened.
The title has been revealed back in 2013, at the PlayStation 4 presentation, but full production didn’t start until 2015 because of the new and upgraded console version of Tearaway.
It also had a difficult path into making because it offers a lot of tool package that takes a lot of time to put together and, most of all, had to be presented in a way that the public could easily understand once the game releases.
On top of that, it has had quite a different process from LittleBigPlanet, as the design has received a lot of input from different people at the studio and wasn’t the fruit of one specific person’s mind at the developer.
We’re definitely curious to try the game first hand, and it’s been playable at several public events lately, so the beta – which has been promised again for 2018 – should be around rather soon.
