A server says that when rude kids ask for Mountain Dew, she gives them ‘a splash of mt dew then 90% soda water’

A server says she changes the Mountain Dew she serves to children at rude tables, adding a small splash of the soda and filling most of the glass with soda water.

A server says she changes the Mountain Dew she brings to children at tables where customers have been rude. According to BroBible, the server, Minerva, described the practice in a TikTok video posted under the handle @mini_minniii. Her post opens with on-screen text asking other restaurant workers: “What’s something that you’ve done as a server to rude customers?”

Her video text then continues with an answer that begins “I’ll go first.” In the same post, she wrote that when a rude table has children who order Mountain Dew, she pours “a splash of mt dew then 90% soda water.” That answer responds to the question she aimed at fellow servers.

Minerva also told the outlet about what other workers had shared with her. She explained that some service workers had admitted to things far more serious than watering down a soda, and she called those admissions “just sick.” “Some of the confessions made me physically sick to my stomach,” she stated. She added that she could not picture herself doing even half of what others had described.

Food codes cover how food is presented

Restaurant rules on what reaches a customer’s table often draw on the FDA Food Code. The agency describes it as a model code that is not required, which state, local, tribal and territorial regulators can adopt as statutes, codes or ordinances. According to the FDA’s announcement, its stated purpose is “safeguarding public health and ensuring food is unadulterated and honestly presented” when offered to consumers.

The agency issued the 2026 edition on September 17, 2026, the first full update since 2022. The FDA publishes a complete code on a four-year cycle and may issue supplements with interim updates, modifications or clarifications between full editions. Changes include new food defense definitions and training, a written food safety management system, and a written illness policy for permit holders. Medical clearance for sick employees now relies on validated laboratory tests.

Agencies that use the code oversee more than one million establishments, and it applies to food sold at retail and in food service. The edition also revises rules on gloves, refilling reusable containers and cooling, and it adds a section on disinfection. Its annex also expands guidance on sushi rice acidification, dehydration and freeze-drying. Because the code is a model, each jurisdiction decides which edition to adopt and when.

Diners also react to what restaurants serve, as when a Texan reviewed a tough brisket that made a velcro-like sound. Minerva’s video centered on her own approach to rude tables and a single drink order. Her opening question invited other servers to compare what they do when a table treats them badly, and the drink trick was her own answer.
