PS5 Price Will Be "Appealing In Light of Its Advanced Feature Set"

One of the things that the Wired feature didn't cover about PS5 is the pricing of the console, which is reportedly releasing in 2020.

Wired reporter Peter Rubin asked about that, but for some reason, that info didn't make it to the final article.

Anyway, Rubin has shared the reaction from lead system architect Mark Cerny on Twitter, and that's quite interesting.

Of course, Cerny didn't reveal all the details about the price but shared an interesting piece of information that could be hinting at $499,99.

"I believe that we will be able to release it at an SRP [suggested retail price] that will be appealing to gamers in light of its advanced feature set," he said.

PlayStation 5 will be coming with a custom chip including technology from Ryzen Zen 2 8 core and Navi, and a solid state drive.

PS4 was launched at $399,99, and that was one of the biggest reasons for its success, but it looks like Sony might've dropped that way to offer a more powerful and future proof console.

We'll learn more about that along the way.
