#BringBackNationalDex is trending following Pokémon Sword and Shield National Pokédex Backlash
Ever since Game Freak announced that the National Pokédex would be excluded from Pokémon Sword and Shield, the Pokémon fanbase has been in riot mode.
Currently, the game will only have a handful of the 800+ Pokemon in the game with no sign of other Pokemon ever being included in a future patch or installment. Game Freak is also looking to limit the amount of Pokemon per generation moving forward and remove the National Pokédex all together from future games in the series.
This, as you can imagine, has angered fans. The National Pokédex has been a staple of the series for two decades now, and the decision to remove it and potentially remove someone's favorite Pokémon from the game has rightfully angered a lot of people.
As such, the
#BringBackNationalDex tag has been trending on social media with Pokémon fans in their thousands replying to every official Pokémon social media post with the message, determined to see the feature be implemented into the game in some way or another.
Of course, it is not likely to do anything to change Game Freak's mind, and even if it concerned them, Game Freak would need to make over 400 new Pokemon models at least and implement them somehow into the game in the future to give into fans requests— which is nigh impossible (at least at first glance.)
As such, it is likely impossible that the fan backlash will have any impact on this game's final decision so close to launch though it might make Game Freak reconsider the National Pokédex for any future games in the series.
The only thing we could say to those of you upset by this matter, if you don't like the No National Pokédex decision, then don't buy the game. But there was no way you were going to do that, right?
