Battlefield V Firestorm Reportedly Introducing Respawn

It might not be beating Fortnite, but sure enough, Apex Legends has had an impact in the way other battle royale titles handle some of their core mechanics, such as the respawn which has been introduced in the Epic Games pop culture phenomenon.

It looks like Battlefield V Firestorm is going in the same direction, as fans of the mode have discovered, in datamining files of the game, that DICE is about to implement respawn very soon although it wasn’t part of the original plan.

Mentions of the respawn mechanic have been included in the latest patch, where the duo playlist was also talked about despite having been removed rather soon after the release of Firestorm to leave just the squad playlist be.

As learned by the files, the respawn mechanic is said to be “connected to a public event (location), so you have to go there and capture it” to make it count, which would be a very Battlefield thing to do.

“Players get a message on their screen that Respawn is available,” we read, and it should not be very different from regular modes where respawning is already support, so “no advanced stuff like getting back into the game via an additional airdrop.”

If the Respawn mechanics works like this then it would not be disruptive of the experience we’ve already had since the launch on Firestorm nor the one we’ve been playing through for ages on Battlefield; also, it would be very easy for DICE to implement in the existing game, so why not?

We’ll update you as soon as more information, perhaps official, come about the matter.
