Bluepoint Games, the studio behind the recent Shadow of the Colossus remake for the PlayStation 4, is already hard at work on remaking another title.
In an interview with Digital Foundry, Marco Thrush, the president and co-owner of Bluepoint Games, went into detail about the game’s development and teased that the studio’s next remake will be bigger in scope than its previous title.
“This project served us as a great point of growing the art team to the point where we can take on a full triple-A game major scope of art content,” Thrush told Digital Foundry. “So now our next step is, let’s improve the art pipeline, let’s improve the engine, let’s improve workflow for artists, let’s grow on the art side some more to handle our next project because it’s a bit bigger.”
Bluepoint Games is known for its work on a number of remakes and ports over the years. This studio is the mastermind behind the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Gravity Rush Remastered games for PS4, as well as the God of War Collection and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
Shadow of the Colossus for PS4 marked the second time that Bluepoint remade the game. The team originally made a Shadow of Colossus and Ico remake for PlayStation 3 in 2011 before being asked to do a full remaster of the title again in 2018.
Bluepoint is being coy on its next announcement, however, and the studio is simply stating that it hopes fans will be excited about the upcoming game.
