Nintendo has revealed an official stylus for Nintendo Switch. It is going to release on Dec. 27, in Japan, while it has not been confirmed for the Western territories, even though we expect news to break soon.
The stylus is a throwback to the Nintendo DS days. It got announced alongside the latest Brain Age iteration, which is also coming to Nintendo Switch on December 27, 2019, in Japan. A stylus was set to release (for free) with the release of Super Mario Maker 2. But we don’t know if there’s going to be some changes outside of the official package.
It’s releasing as a standalone item at the price of 864 JPY, about $9. It’s also coming out with the release Brain Age game; Brain Age for$25 digitally, or $35 at retail. This version includes the stylus, so the two products are “connected” in terms of purpose.
Brain Age is the first Switch game to make use of the Home Button LED, as shared on ResetEra. It will make the console vibrate and turn the LED on when it’s time to train. You can play it on the Nintendo Switch Lite, except for the mini-game based on the IR. This option does not come to the Lite version of the console.
Hopefully, we’ll get more details about both the Brain Age and the Stylus releases in the Western territories. The territories release could get set to happen some point in 2020 given the December launch date of the game.
