The time has finally come, Call of Duty fans—the Blackout beta for Black Ops 4’s highly-anticipated battle royale mode is now live on PlayStation 4.Â
The beta was scheduled to first become available on PS4 at 12pm CT today, but the servers just went live an hour early. The Xbox One and an early-access PC beta exclusively on Battle.net will begin on Sept. 14 at 12pm CT, while the open PC beta starts on Sept. 15.

A lot of Call of Duty fans are excited to get their hands on this franchise’s battle royale mode, even if it’s only the beta for now.
We’ve learned a bit about Blackout ahead of the start of the beta, too. The battle royale mode will feature 80-player servers, zombies controlled by bots, vehicles, and parts of several maps from previous Call of Duty titles, such as Firing Range and Nuketown.
The official Blackout map was also released, and it’ll be the largest map in Call of Duty history. Additionally, Blackout will feature first-person perspective only and friendly fire will be enabled.
The Blackout beta is set to come to an end at 12pm CT on Sept. 17—so get out there and test out this mode.
