While we’re still waiting for the official confirmation to drop, it’s almost safe to state that the next Call of Duty game will be Modern Warfare 4.

We’ve reported many rumors about that and this time around we could even be witnessing the reveal of the release date for the title.

Former community strategist at Infinity Ward Robert Bowling has indeed issued a couple of teasers on Twitter, that heavily hint at the fact that he might know things about the franchise.

The first tweet has an image slowly zooming on Modern Warfare 2 Ghost’s face, possibly hinting at a reprisal of the character.

The second tweet has a video showing the scene of the death of Ghost, always from Modern Warfare 3, and bears the message: “history is written by the victor. History is filled with liars. If he lives, and we die, his truth becomes written—and ours is lost.”

Both the tweets come completely of quotes from “Hurt,” Nine Inch Nails’ song which was also famously covered by Johnny Cash.

The first of the two also has a date, October 8, 2019, which could be the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

We don’t know why Bowling might be doing this, as he is not working with Infinity Ward anymore (since 2016), so it could only be a joke or something not related to the next game at all.

If you ask me, chances are pretty sparse that it is like this and that the teasers have nothing to do with the next Call of Duty. Guess we’ll have to wait a few more weeks to learn all the truth.
