Does Isabelle have a good chance of returning for Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

What are the odds of Isabella being in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Animal Crossing is a social simulation video game franchise. You live in a village that is filled with anthropomorphic animals. You design your own house, and you socialize with the animal people that live near you.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an upcoming entry in the series that is going to release on the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020. A lot of major supporting characters are already shown to be returning to New Horizons, like Tom Nook.

At the time of this writing, Isabelle has yet to be shown for the game. Isabelle is a cute, anthropomorphic dog that served as your secretary in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. She quickly became a fan favorite and was even made playable in the incredibly successful Super Smash Bros. fighting game series.

Whereas a character like Tom Nook has been shown off in New Horizons, it is odd we haven’t seen Isabelle in the upcoming Animal Crossing game. But does that mean she won’t be in it?

She almost definitely will make it in New Horizons. Not only is she very popular among fans, but her reveal trailer in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate implied it.

At the end of the trailer, Tom Nook is shown watching the trailer on his computer. He then talks about getting the town ready for when “they” return from “camping and smashing.” The assumption is that he is referring to both Isabelle and the Village (the player avatar from Animal Crossing). He could be referring to the players as “they,” though we find unlikely for Isabelle to be mentioned and not be in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is slated to release on March 20, 2020.
