We’re quite used at people making games just for the sake of making money because they think nowadays it’s very easy to do so, for some reason.

This could be one of those cases if you consider that you can now purchase a PSN Avatar for €99,99 (around $99) on the EU PlayStation Store for PS4.
The item is called the State of Anarchy: Master of Mayhem – Golden Prince Avatar and depicts, well, a golden prince, I guess.
Of course, this could be a pricing error if you look at all the prices of the other avatars for this game. However, this is a well-known practice that trash indie titles apply, selling the core game for just a couple dollars and then trying to capitalize on avatars and cosmetic stuff like that on PSN.
Someone on the forums also claims it’s a marketing stunt for the core game, State of Anarchy: Master of Mayhem, which is an indie shooter with top-down visuals that has a PSN description translated with Google Translate in my Italian client. If you want to check it out, it’s available for €8,99 (less than one-tenth of the price of that avatar).
Sure enough, there’s a chance that now you do know something about this game when a few minutes ago you didn’t have any idea about that. I don’t know whether this will be positive publicity or not, but at least you know it now.
