Call of Duty fans can’t wait to get their hands on the private beta for Black Ops 4’s highly-anticipated battle royale mode, Blackout.

But before the beta even begins, fans have been learning a lot of information about Blackout through Charlie Intel and GameInformer. And today, we’ve learned a little bit more about gameplay features in the upcoming battle royale mode.

Blackout will only feature first-person gameplay, according to Charlie Intel. This is unlike Fortnite: Battle Royale, which is played from the third-person perspective. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, however, can be played from both first-person and third-person perspective.

It makes sense that Blackout would only include first-person perspective, though, since that’s traditionally the style seen throughout the Call of Duty franchise (aside from a few separate third-person modes).

Additionally, Charlie Intel reported that friendly fire will be enabled in Blackout. Friendly fire is also a part of PUBG, but it’s no longer enabled in Fortnite after tons of players became upset about being team-killed. Treyarch is likely enabling friendly fire from the start to see how the community will handle the ability to kill teammates.

This just continues to add on to the amount of knowledge we’ve gained about the highly-anticipated battle royale mode. Earlier this week, we learned about the player count in lobbies, some of the confirmed vehicles, and the official map was even revealed.

The Blackout beta will officially be available next week. It’ll first come to PlayStation 4 on Sept. 10. The Xbox One and an early-access PC beta exclusively on Battle.net will start on Sept. 14 at 12pm CT, with the open PC beta set to begin at the same time on Sept. 15.
