Prepare To Die Again is a mod that aims itself squarely at the veterans of the series. Players who have already finished the game can use this mod to give things a good shuffle, making the game feel new and surprising again.

Dark Souls Remastered - Prepare To Die Again Mod

“I always loved the feeling of my first Dark Souls run. Everything felt fresh and new, and I did not know where deadly enemies lured around. But with every run, the game felt less “exciting.” Don’t get me wrong, Dark Souls is still one of the best games ever made. But the feeling was different. I knew all the enemy positions, and also NG+ did change nothing as well (congratulation to DS2 for actually changing things in NG+ cycles…). I just wished it would be possible to erase my memory and experience the game like it was my first time.”

Many of us lament the fact that you can only experience Dark Souls for the first time once, and Stealthyfrog decided to do something about it. This mod will change enemy positions, but maintain loyalty to the lore when it comes to what kind of bad guys you encounter it the games various locations. The positions of bonfires have been changed, along with new loot carrying corpses and chests being placed in the game.

For people who love the game, but have maybe gotten a little tired of the repetition, this mod is a fantastic way to shake things up. Will it feel like playing Dark Souls for the first time? The only way to tell is to install the mod and find out. I know what I am going to be doing this Christmas.
