According to a new rumor, Destiny 3 is about to release in just one year, in 2020, for the next generation consoles.
Over the last few days, supposed insider AnonTheNine dropped a series of unconfirmed leaks about the next game by Bungie on 4chan.
Those leaks have managed to make their way to Reddit, and from there we got the most important piece of the puzzle — the release window.
Bungie is reportedly expected to make Destiny 3 one of the first PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett games, positioning itself around their respective launches.
“I didn’t [sic] include it in the post because it’s not 100% confirmed, but I can basically guarantee a 2020 release date as a multiplatform launch title for the PS5 and Project Scarlett,” the insider said.
Bungie has had an approach of going on as many platforms as possible, taking into account ‘legacy consoles’ as well as the newest. Now that it’s independent, things could’ve changed a bit, but it remains unlikely it’ll go entirely next-gen skipping the biggest userbase out there. And then there’s PC, of course.
